Goals of the session:

  • Participants explored and discussed the elements of North Carolina‚Äôs plan for the statewide scaling-up and implementation of a Kindergarten Entry Assessment (KEA) and K-3 Formative Assessment System. The plan employs research-based implementation practices that support a sustainability design which will ensure that a Kindergarten Entry Assessment and K-3 Formative Assessment is sustainable and used with good effect to improve teaching and learning outcomes.

  • Participants identified and discussed ideas and offered feedback and suggestions.
